About Me

My photo
I am a 29 year old teacher of fourth grade. My husband and I began TTC in March of 2008. We conceived our first month, but unfortunately it only ended in an early miscarriage. 8 months later we finally conceived again, and she was our take-home baby! Norah Jane was born on July 16, 2009. 7lbs 0oz 19" long and amazing. We recently had our sweet baby boy, Miles! He was born on June 12, 2013 at 3:37pm, weighing in at 8lbs 4oz, 20 inches long, and PERFECT! We are loving every minute of parenthood (even the frustrating minutes!). This blog is an attempt to chronicle the baby steps, foot steps, leaps, bounds, and milestones of this journey.

The good times...and bad.

Well, there are several good things going on in life right now, and several bad/frustrating things, too. Let's start with the bad so I can end with the good. :)

It seems that in my life, when one thing breaks, everything breaks. Here's what's broken right now:

*The air conditioning in our house went out yesterday. Thankfully we are still renting, but the landlord can't send anyone out until tomorrow. It is so so so so so hot. We spent nearly the entire day away from the house today, because it is like an oven in here. It is honestly cooler outside than it is in the house. It makes sleeping very hard, but I worry more about Norah overheating. I keep checking on her and she's very clammy. :/

*The Jetta (that horrid little vehicle that we still owe money on) is broken...AGAIN! I hate that car so much. It is the biggest lemon/ money pit ever. We went to camp for a week, and when we came back, the alternator had gone out. No biggie right? Well, any other car in the world would be able to be fixed by my handy husband for around $150. Not this one. They built the engine on top of the alternator. It's $530 to fix. Sigh....

*Our toilet chain broke. Again. I know this $2 fix isn't a big deal at all, but this is the third time it's happened in the last 2 months, and it's just one more thing....

*The Volvo has a light that keeps coming on and going off. It is the ETS light. Could be really expensive if that system is breaking. I am praying it isn't.

*I know this isn't something broken, but we have ants, and I can't figure out where they're coming from. I saw them today in the house and tried to track them, but failed. One more thing to buy at Lowe's tomorrow!

Whew...that's all I can think of right now. It's crazy. I am faithful that God will get us through this crazy time without me going completely nuts. :)

The Good Stuff

*Norah cracks me up. She says, "One more, all done, ok?" so often, and it makes me laugh every time. She also says, "There it is! I found it!" constantly, which is probably my favorite thing she can say.

*Speaking of "can say," it isn't a matter of what Norah "can say" anymore. It is now more of what she hears. She can repeat and understand just about every single thing that you tell her. It's amazing to watch. I am constantly in awe of her.

*She can sing her ABCs! The whole way through. When she gets to "L, m, n, o, p" She just goes, "lollllollolmmmmmm" p! It's adorable. She sang it for the talent show at camp....it was a proud moment for me. :)

*Camp was amazing. My husband is such a great youth minister. The kids all had a blast, and Norah was really great the entire time.

*Norah now sings "Row, row your boat," and "If you're happy and you know it" all the way through. Hand motions included. It's so cute.

*Some of her favorite toys are wooden puzzles (which she puts together like it's nothing!), her kitchen set, BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS, and anything with buckles on it.

*She is getting ready for the arrival of her new baby cousin, Scarlett. She prays for her nearly every night, which is so sweet. She loves to kiss my sister's belly and give Scarlett hugs. I <3 it. :)

That's about it for now. The computer is hot on my legs and we have no a/c right now!
