About Me

My photo
I am a 29 year old teacher of fourth grade. My husband and I began TTC in March of 2008. We conceived our first month, but unfortunately it only ended in an early miscarriage. 8 months later we finally conceived again, and she was our take-home baby! Norah Jane was born on July 16, 2009. 7lbs 0oz 19" long and amazing. We recently had our sweet baby boy, Miles! He was born on June 12, 2013 at 3:37pm, weighing in at 8lbs 4oz, 20 inches long, and PERFECT! We are loving every minute of parenthood (even the frustrating minutes!). This blog is an attempt to chronicle the baby steps, foot steps, leaps, bounds, and milestones of this journey.

4th of July and some updates

Today is the 4th of July, 2011, and it has been a lot of fun. We had my sisters Jamie and Jessy, and Matt and Crystal come over. We had crab legs, which were so so so good! Norah was a blast too, as usual. Speaking of Norah, I need to do some updates:

*She is speaking in full sentences. Saying things like, "No mama! stop! I'll do it!"
*She sings her ABCs so well, and she sings it all.the.time. It's so funny, because she'll be singing one song, like Row your boat, and somehow it turns into ABCs.
*She LOVES corn. Not sure if i've written that before, but we had some tonight, and she just tears it up.
*She thinks everything is hilarious. She started busting out this high pitched laugh when she does something that she thinks is silly. Then she'll scream, "Mama!! Yook! Yook!" It is so funny.
*She is halfway potty trained... but that's another post. She'll potty when we put her on the toilet, and she will tell us every so often, but we're completely in pull-ups. I'll have to go through the whole process later, but it is positive that we're having some progress.
*She is around 27-28lbs I think. Heavy little thing. :) She still has her adorable toddler baby belly, and she also has her sweet little cheeks. It does look like she's about to slim out though.
*She is wearing a size 6 shoe. I remember when she was in size 1s and thinking that the size 4 shoe looked HUGE! Now she's in a 6...sigh.
*She isn't using her high chair at all anymore. She's now in her booster seat at the table. She loves it too. She has also learned how to climb up into the booster seat herself. I still don't understand how she does that.
*She LOVES to help me cook. Everytime I start to make something in the kitchen, she runs over to a dining chair and says, "Help mama! I get chair!" We are in the process of building her a play kitchen out of an entertainment center. That will hopefully be a blog post soon. She has a plastic play kitchen from Walgreens that she loves, but it is just too small.
*Her sleep patterns are fairly regular. She goes to bed around 8 and wakes up around 7 everyday. If she goes to bed any later than 8, she usually gets up earlier than 7...crazy.
*She does NOT like fireworks. We lit some yesterday, and she was totally fine until we did this stupid ladybug one. We thought it was noiseless like the others we got, but this one made a really loud noise and she got scared. She said, "Mama! Scarwy! It's scarwy...go inside?" So sad. :(

We are enjoying this stage of her life so much. I swear that having ONE toddler is sometimes a whole lot easier than having a newborn. Easier to sleep, easier to feed them, easier to keep them
entertained. :)
