About Me

My photo
I am a 29 year old teacher of fourth grade. My husband and I began TTC in March of 2008. We conceived our first month, but unfortunately it only ended in an early miscarriage. 8 months later we finally conceived again, and she was our take-home baby! Norah Jane was born on July 16, 2009. 7lbs 0oz 19" long and amazing. We recently had our sweet baby boy, Miles! He was born on June 12, 2013 at 3:37pm, weighing in at 8lbs 4oz, 20 inches long, and PERFECT! We are loving every minute of parenthood (even the frustrating minutes!). This blog is an attempt to chronicle the baby steps, foot steps, leaps, bounds, and milestones of this journey.

Fall retreat fail.

With Daniel being a youth minister, we have retreats twice a year, and of course, summer camp. Since having Norah, I've always taken her to the retreats and such, but we usually have a separate cabin or something for us to sleep in. Well, this year at our all retreat, there wasn't a cabin for us to have for ourselves, so I decided that it would be fine for Norah and I to sleep in one of the cabins with the youth group girls... Wrong.

I made sure to put her in bed by 8:30, and since I was so tired, I just laid down with her. She did NOT want to sleep. It was like she was looking at me as an audience to do anything bs everything that she could to avoid sleeping. When I tried to force her to be quiet or calm down, she threw a fit.... Kicking, screaming, crying... It was nuts. Two and a half hours later, she wasn't any different, so I decided to take her home. She was out within seconds of getting in the car. Silly baby.

Other than that, everything has been going well. We're gearing up for thankgiving, which I am so excited about. Speaking of that, three years ago today, I POAS and it was beautifully positive. That day was amazing, and it has led to so many amazing days. :)

iPhone 4 me!

Pretty excited that I got my first iPhone two days ago. I am posting about it because I often wonder if it'll sound interesting in 20 years if I look at my blog... Or if I am just seeing blog updates through my computerized eye contacts that I just KNOW we'll have 20 years from now. :) Anyhow, this iPhone is amazing. It is a computer in my hand. It does everything that I'd normally do on a laptop. I look at this thing and think, "how much further can technology really go?"

So let's talk about Norah. Oh my goodness this girl-- I love her so much. It's inexplicable really. She is her own person, but she's also me-- and my husband. She is the best parts of both of us. She is amazing.

We went trick or treating last night. It was her first real one. She went with us to about ten, maybe twelve, houses. Everyone was so happy to see her, and she just lit up when they brought her the candy. She was a little dragon this year, although she called it a dinosaur. She was precious!
