About Me

My photo
I am a 29 year old teacher of fourth grade. My husband and I began TTC in March of 2008. We conceived our first month, but unfortunately it only ended in an early miscarriage. 8 months later we finally conceived again, and she was our take-home baby! Norah Jane was born on July 16, 2009. 7lbs 0oz 19" long and amazing. We recently had our sweet baby boy, Miles! He was born on June 12, 2013 at 3:37pm, weighing in at 8lbs 4oz, 20 inches long, and PERFECT! We are loving every minute of parenthood (even the frustrating minutes!). This blog is an attempt to chronicle the baby steps, foot steps, leaps, bounds, and milestones of this journey.

Last day of the year!

Well, it is 11:39 on the last day of 2011! I cannot believe how fast this year went. It was a great year, but thankfully, it was a year of no huge events for our family! This year, two of my sisters got married, and the other sister had a baby.

Us? Nothing big! Love it. We needed a year of a little bit of calmness. Even with all of the events of my extended family, it was nice to be able to have a chance for us to just BE.

Before I forget, let me discuss Christmas. This Christmas was SO much fun with Norah! She seemed to know what was going on, loved everything dealing with Santa, and got so excited about Christmas day. We all loved it! She got way more toys than she needed though. Her favorites are the magnetic fishing puzzles, and her geotag train/car set.

When we woken up on Christmas eve morning, which was our Christmas day because we surprised my parents on Christmas morning in south Carolina...which means driving though the night.... Byway, she walked into the kitchen where Rudolph made his mess. She looked at it and said, "Rudolph! You make a mess!" it was so cute. Then she went in and saw all of her presents and got so excited. We had a really great Christmas wi just the three of us. I hope that next year I will be expecting another little one on during the Christmas season!

So speaking of next year, I have a few resolutions:
1. I want to be healthier. Ideally I would like to lose 20 lbs before we start TTC, but mostly I just want to be healthier in what I eat and how often I exercise.
2. I want to be more organized. I am sure Pintrest will help me with this.
3. I want to become closer to God. I want my faith to be stronger, so I'm going to work on it.

2011 was good, but I hope that 2012 will be great! It is 11:51 now, so I've gotta get going!

I love Christmastime.

December is one of my favorite months for several reasons-- snow days, time off from teaching, Baking, but most of all, the whole Christmas atmosphere. The decorations make me feel such warmth and happiness.

Norah is loving this time too. We are introducing her to Santa-- although when we went and saw him for the first time last weekend, she politely refused to sit in his lap. Can we blame her though? Go sit in a strange man's lap? I wouldn't do it either.

She loved decorating the tree with me. She also loves pushing the button that controls our outdoor lights on and off.

Tomorrow we are going to make a countdown to Christmas, because she already tried to open one present under the tree.
