About Me

My photo
I am a 29 year old teacher of fourth grade. My husband and I began TTC in March of 2008. We conceived our first month, but unfortunately it only ended in an early miscarriage. 8 months later we finally conceived again, and she was our take-home baby! Norah Jane was born on July 16, 2009. 7lbs 0oz 19" long and amazing. We recently had our sweet baby boy, Miles! He was born on June 12, 2013 at 3:37pm, weighing in at 8lbs 4oz, 20 inches long, and PERFECT! We are loving every minute of parenthood (even the frustrating minutes!). This blog is an attempt to chronicle the baby steps, foot steps, leaps, bounds, and milestones of this journey.

At some point there will (hopefully) be another.

We are NOT TTC right now, and we will not be in the near future, but I have been talking with Daniel about baby names lately. This discussion came on while we were on our way home from South Carolina. The trip is 9 hours, and by the last hour, it was 10pm and we were exhausted. So tired, in fact, that we began to get the gigglies. So we decided, that to pass the time, we would think of what we would name a boy, if we ever had one.

First off i would like to say that the likelihood of us EVER having a boy is zero to none. There are NOTHING but girls in my family, and nothing but girls in his family too. It's crazy. We have two nephews, but they are not blood-related. Anyway, so it started off normally, then it went to silly. We could not come up with a single boy name that we both liked, which is fine-- I'm really ok with it seeing as though we are not pregnant, not TTC, or anything.

However, that conversation has left me feeling a little defeated. I {still} cannot think of a single name that I love for a boy. I like old, classic names, but most of those are names that are still SO common. That's what I don't like. I grew up in elementary school as one of at least four Jennifers in every class I had. I hated having a name that was so common. My fourth grade teacher tried making my name "Jenny", but I was NOT having that!

Anyhow, I still have yet to come up with a boy name that I like. I saw one today that I didn't hate: Maxwell. I also came upon a girl name that I currently LOVE: Pearl. :) What a sweet name. I think it would pair perfectly with Norah. Norah and Pearl... :) I love it!

Reiterating that I am NOT pg or even thinking of TTC. This is just a curiosity post.
