About Me

My photo
I am a 29 year old teacher of fourth grade. My husband and I began TTC in March of 2008. We conceived our first month, but unfortunately it only ended in an early miscarriage. 8 months later we finally conceived again, and she was our take-home baby! Norah Jane was born on July 16, 2009. 7lbs 0oz 19" long and amazing. We recently had our sweet baby boy, Miles! He was born on June 12, 2013 at 3:37pm, weighing in at 8lbs 4oz, 20 inches long, and PERFECT! We are loving every minute of parenthood (even the frustrating minutes!). This blog is an attempt to chronicle the baby steps, foot steps, leaps, bounds, and milestones of this journey.

Monster Crayon Bag!! (Tutorial Included!)

When I was looking for ideas for Norah's 3rd birthday theme, I came across this picture:

From this blog.

When I saw that picture, I knew two things: I HAD to do a Little Monsters theme, and I LOVED those monster crayon bags in the picture! I thought that making those would be such a fun and cute way to decorate the party, but also serve as the coolest favor bag EVER!

So I did what any good internetee would do, and I clicked on the picture, which brought me to the blog above. After some reading, I saw that she loosely adapted it from THIS TUTORIAL!

I loved the tutorial-- so many pictures <-- Read: I can follow it. So I bought the supplies, and made my first one. It turned out SO CUTE! I love it, and I can't wait to give them as favor gifts!

The only things I did differently than the tutorial were: Added hair to the top of the monster (from inspiration picture), Made 7 crayon spaces instead of 5, (There's room to do this on the original measurements--no changes are needed), and I made one foot straps instead of 2 foot. I did this to save money, honestly. I am making 12 of these, and It saved me a good $6-8 by reducing it.

Go make one! They are super easy, and I really enjoyed making it! Now to make 11 more...

Here's Mine!!
